VACUUM TRUCK DRIVER

A San Diego based Construction Company with operations throughout Southern California currently has openings for Full Time Vacuum Truck Driver, in its Lakeside, California Division.

JOB DUTIES:

The duties for this position will include and not limited to performing physical labor for;

  • The job requires some flexibility in scheduling with usually a 40-hour week and other weeks requiring overtime
  • Safely operate the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck and perform other duties such as clean-up, mobilization, and general maintenance of the equipment
  • Always communicate effectively and professionally and demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all interactions
  • Lead and direct personnel to perform duties/tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and as the need arises, perform minor repairs to equipment
  • Use Company provided technology (iPad) for field time, and attendance
  • Verify the job has a USA Ticket #
  • Veriforce training required
  • Wash vacuum filters and empty and maintain tank of the truck at the end of the day.
  • MUST keep interior and exterior of truck clean all times. We will provide supplies for the upkeep of the truck and have the truck washed every other week.
  • MUST keep truck “show truck clean”.

 

 

SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified candidates must possess the following special skills and or requirements to be considered for this position.

  • Must have and maintain a CDL A or B, with an acceptable driving record with valid DOT Medical card.
  • Tanker endorsement required
  • Safe operation and inspections of all equipment (Pre-trip and Post trip)
  • Good communication skills with dispatcher and clients always
  • Consistent and dependable in attendance and work practices
  • Ability to work independently in a team and safety focused environment
  • Flexibility to work overtime occasional Saturdays, Sundays, and holiday.
  • Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
  • Able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
  • Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights
  • Ability to read and interpret information such driving routes, safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience using computer and learning new systems.
  • At least 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred
  • Having vacuum truck driving experience would be a plus
