Maurice Ortega, a native of San Diego, formed his company in 1974 with one backhoe. Today A.M. Ortega employs over 185 men and women between two branches and two additional satellite offices.

A. M. Ortega is a certified minority business enterprise working in the dry underground utility, and concrete / asphalt paving industries. AM Ortega specializes in underground electric; natural gas line installation and telecommunication, working with utility companies in the San Diego / Los Angeles / Northern California, San Bernardino, Las Vegas, Nevada, and several cities in Arizona.
